Dog Lounging on Couch

Meet Biggs, Pawsitivity Promoter

Despite a life where he was abused by his owner, who never realized he was deaf, Biggs found his way to a rescue that saved him just before his 7th birthday. He was a cherished fospice pup and us from the start and crossed the rainbow bridge in June of 2025. He thrived in a loving home despite his numerous health challenges, including arthritis, hip injuries, a collapsed trachea, partial blindness, and cancer. With his gentle nature and joyful spirit, Biggs loved making new friends, both human and animal, proving that adoptable dogs with special needs can live fulfilling, happy lives.

Biggs' Story

Biggs' first big day - Love at first sight

Biggs came to our founder through a rescue that took him in despite having no resources or space. Their only option was to get him into boarding. It was a wonderful facility, but he was stressed and unhappy in a kennel.

Our founder first met him when she picked him up for an adoption event from boarding. It quickly became clear that Biggs was meant to be a permanent part of the family. He found his place as a fospice pup in the family, meaning he was forever owned by the rescue but lived out his life permanently in his foster home.

Biggs' early life was filled with hardship. His owner was seen beating him, stating it was because he was "dumb and stupid." He lived his first seven years with her, and she never knew he was deaf. Thankfully, a witness to his beatings reported what they saw, and a dedicated animal control officer stepped in and convinced his owner to sign him over.

Biggs came to his animal rescue with several health challenges, including arthritis, a collapsed trachea, hip injuries, a cancerous mass, deafness, and partial blindness. Yet, he was the happiest dog, full of life and love.

Biggs was gentle-natured, knew basic hand signal commands like "sit," and got along well with other dogs and cats. He liked to bounce around his sister SuChang trying to get her to play with him. He loved making new friends, both human and animal. Biggs navigated life with a joyful spirit, skipping instead of walking and bringing a smile to everyone he met.

Biggs enjoyed a cozy fospice life with his own bedroom and a queen-sized bed. He thrived the last two years of his life, proving that with love and care, adoptable dogs like him can live fulfilling lives.

Biggs' role as the Pawsitivity Promoter inspired and reminded us all of the importance of adopting pets, especially those with special needs or senior dogs who deserve a chance to live out their lives in loving homes. His story highlights the joy and fulfillment that come with rescuing and adopting dogs, and he is a testament to the mission of Pet Protect and Connect.
