Every founder has a moment that changes everything. Mine happened after years of volunteering with animal rescues, reviewing adoption applications, transporting animals, fostering pets, and watching incredible volunteers work tirelessly with limited time and resources.
Recently, I had the opportunity to share that journey on The Story of My Pet podcast, and it reminded me just how many people have helped shape this mission.
The Problem I Couldn't Ignore
Animal rescue is powered by passionate people. But passion alone can't solve administrative overload. Many rescues spend countless volunteer hours sorting through applications, answering repetitive questions, and trying to identify the best possible homes for each animal. Meanwhile, qualified adopters often become frustrated by inconsistent processes, long wait times, or applying for multiple pets across different organizations. These challenges are part of what inspired the creation of Pet Protect & Connect.
Why Technology Matters in Animal Rescue
Technology shouldn't replace the expertise of rescue volunteers. It should amplify it.
Pet Protect & Connect was designed to help rescues organize applications, surface strong matches based on each rescue's priorities, and reduce administrative burden while keeping people in control of every adoption decision.
What We Discussed on the Podcast
During the conversation, we explored:
My journey from rescue volunteer to founder
Why AI should support, not replace, human decision-making
How better technology can improve experiences for both rescues and adopters
The future of smarter pet adoption
My Hope
Every rescue deserves access to tools that save time. Every adopter deserves a smoother experience. And every pet deserves the best possible chance at finding the right home. If this mission resonates with you, I'd love for you to listen to the full conversation.
Whether you're a rescue volunteer, adopter, foster, or simply someone who believes every pet deserves a loving home, I hope you'll find something meaningful in our conversation.
